Here is a close up of the granite. The dark pink parts are actually garnets. The slabs we got have less yellow/gold in them than the samples we saw, but overall they look really nice with the paint color.
The bar on the island has just been finished, so hopefully that granite will go in soon too.

You are going to have so much fun cooking in that kitchen! And dyeing yarn :) The granite is beautiful! I see you have one of those nifty flip-out drawers under the sink - my parents have one of those and it's so handy...
I have fantasized quite a bit about the yarn dyeing in that kitchen! All the space...
